The University of Manchester works closely with the Fulbright and Marshall commissions to deliver scholarships for grad school study to US students and many of our top research institutes attract leading scholars from around the world.
The University of Manchester is an International Commitment Partner with the Institute of International Education and provides scholarships for Fulbright and Marshall Scholars – this year they will welcome 5 Marshall scholars, more than any other UK university.
The University of Manchester also offers the President’s Doctoral Scholar award of 100 prestigious PhD scholarships each year to elite researchers. You can find a list of their research beacons on their website here. They also have a new scholarship for US students to study at their prestigious and new Global Development Institute. Their Alliance Manchester Business School also offers a Master’s Scholarships for US residents, which provides a substantial contribution towards tuition fees for five outstanding candidates.
Students currently in their junior year of college (from any major) are eligible to apply to two distinct summer fellowships hosted by CMU’s Heinz College. All applications need to be submitted through the websites below:
- Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute
- Application Deadline: November 1, 2017
- IT Lab: Summer Security Intensive (SSI)
- Priority Application Deadline: December 1, 2017
Each program is a 7-week in-residence experience and feature:
- Specialized courses taught by CMU faculty: Fellows earn CMU academic credit for coursework (eligible for transfer to home institution)
- $1,000 stipend + the costs of housing, meals, books, supplies, social functions, and travel expenses to and from Pittsburgh
- A scholarship of at least 50% of graduate school tuition, if admitted to and enroll in a master’s program at Heinz College.
