Hackathon for Health – Kick off on March 13
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with the leading companies in San Diego’s growing health care, biotech and technology industries. Student teams from local data science degree programs at UCSD, San Diego State University and Cal State San Marcos as well as local high schools will be sending data science students to solve pressing public health problems using real world data provided by the County of San Diego in support of the Live Well San Diego vison of a region that is Building Better Health, Living Safely and Thriving.
The Hack-A-Thon for Health is open to all students interested and brought to you by LiveGoode, Biocom Institute and The San Diego Data Library as a part of the San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering.
KickOff on March 13th at The Alexandria in Torrey Pines from 9am to 12pm
Data Science Solutions Due by 11:59pm on March 20th
Winners announced at the culminating ceremony on March 22nd from 6pm to 8pm
Beyond the Prizes… Get to Know the Field:
As a student participant competing in the Hack-A-Thon for Health (H4H), you will be given the opportunity to interact with San Diego companies who regularly employ data scientists. As a participant you will have the opportunity to:
– Attend panels comprised of local companies in need of data scientists who will share both the impact of their work, their organizational culture and they type of careers they provide
– Explore the data science tools and services showcase put on by local data science product and service providers
– Compete to win a cash prize based on the thoroughness, elegance and clarity of your teams presentation of results.
– Compete for data science internships at local healthcare, technology or biotech companies
