California DECA – Volunteer Opportunity (March 4&5)

Hello Rady School!

California DECA is an organization for high school students preparing for careers in marketing, management, entrepreneurship, finance, accounting and hospitality. Traditionally our annual conference has been held in Northern California but this is our first year in San Diego. Each day of the conference we need 130 volunteers to evaluate student presentations. Please take a moment to review the attached materials. We’d love to have UCSD alumni, students, and faculty, participate in evaluating student presentations.

If you’d like we could schedule a time to meet and tell you more about DECA and this volunteer opportunity.

We need volunteers:

When: Friday and/or Saturday March 4-5 from 8 am to 4 pm (lunch provided)

Where: Town & Country Hotel: 500 Hotel Circle North, San Diego, CA 92108

How: Sign up today! Simply email me at

to register as a judge! Or you can sign up on our website at

Judging competitive events requires as little as a half-day time commitment, and you’ll be assisting high school students as they work toward successful careers. These students have worked all year to prepare for their competitions both inside and outside of the classroom, and have personally raised the funds to attend the conference where their skills will be evaluated by you. It’s easy to judge. Registered judges receive detailed information and a thorough judge orientation is held on site before competition begins. People who have judged before thoroughly enjoyed their experience and want to return to judge again.

We hope you can join us in this important effort!
