The Prototyping Facility at the UCSD Qualcomm Institute (QI) is a set of labs that were created to make embedded systems prototyping available to researchers and students within the UCSD community as well as outside users, such as industry collaborators or startup companies. They are equally a dedicated consulting/training service in electrical and mechanical systems (i.e. they can design, program and build/machine prototypes for you) and a “maker space” for students and researchers (i.e., they offer you all the tools and machines to create prototypes yourself).
If you are looking to create embedded electronics, mechanical devices, robotic contraptions, real-time / networking software, or 3D printed structures, look no further, they are here to help.
