Service thinking is revolutionizing businesses all over the world. You use innovative intangible services everyday- for example, maybe you paid for your coffee with Square electronic payment service, watched a movie on Netflix, and had Amazon Fresh deliver your groceries. It is important to understand and prepare for this revolution from educational, skills development, and career opportunity perspectives. Because the service sector is the fastest-growing economic sector, this course can also be helpful for students to discover employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The course begins with a basic introduction to service (and how services differ from goods), and moves through high performance organization design, service management and delivery, and industrialization of service for improved productivity and scalability. Overall, the course focuses on service innovation and entrepreneurship, and generation of new, successful service ventures.
If you have an idea for a new service or if you just want to learn more about innovation in the service industry, consider this course!
