Position: Marketing Intern
The San Diego County Taxpayers Association (SDCTA): SDCTA is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting accountable, cost-effective and efficient government and opposing unnecessary taxes and fees. SDCTA is a membership-driven association that plays a vital role in government practices throughout the county. The Association produces high quality, unbiased studies on policy initiatives and acts as an advocate for taxpayers in the county.
Position Description: The SDCTA marketing intern will assist in communicating with members, planning special events, updating website content and preparing quarterly newsletters. The intern will assist in planning and executing high profile events ranging from educational breakfast forums to large-scale galas. S/he will also assist in developing initiatives to attract and retain membership and enhance donor relations; maintaining the database and membership information kits; researching and responding to member inquiries; and performing other duties as required. The intern will assist in identifying new member targets and expanding the Association database.
This is the ideal internship for a student interested in pursuing a career in marketing, communications, public relations, non-profit management, event planning, government affairs or business.
This position requires a 10-15 hour per week commitment for a minimum of 12 weeks.

Ability to make decisions quickly and assist in directing volunteers and vendors
Flexibility to respond to changes in priorities and demands for work
Ability to think analytically about issues and express ideas clearly
Demonstrated experience working independently under pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management skills
Communication, public relations, journalism, management science, economics, political science and business majors/minors are preferred.
