Becker CPA Scholarship Program

Becker Professional Education is proud to offer the Newton D. Becker Scholarship program, created in honor of Becker’s founder. The scholarship focuses on Newt’s vision of helping students and accounting professionals fulfill their dreams of earning the CPA credential by offering deserving individuals financial assistance to prepare for the CPA Exam. The scholarship criteria are based on qualities important to Newt: high moral character, strong leadership and commitment to community service.

The Newton D. Becker Scholarship* program will award over $200,000 in CPA Exam Review Scholarships,  including 20 full 4-part courses  each valued at $3,360. Additional CPA Exam Review scholarships valued at $1,600 will also be awarded.

2014 UC Human Rights Fellowships

The Center on Global Justice is pleased to announce the 7th annual student competition for human rights fellowships.  Successful applicants for the 2014 UC Human Rights Fellowship will receive $4,500 for summer internships with a human rights organization of his or her choice.

Interested students are invited to attend an informational session on Wednesday, February 5th, at 12pm in the San Diego Super Computer Building Conference Room 145E – level 1.

Study Abroad Expo this Weds!


Programs Abroad is hosting a Winter Study Abroad Expo on Wednesday, January 29, 2013, from 11-2 pm at ERC’s Great Hall (I-House).

It’s not too late for students to find exciting international academic opportunities and be overseas as early as this summer or next fall! Participating on a program abroad can internationalize a student’s resume, improve language and cross-cultural skills, and be a highlight to a college experience.  Stop by the Great Hall on January 29th!
