Institute of Management Accounting – Student Night 10/14
The Institute of Management Accounting is hosting its Student Night on October 14th. Students from UC San Diego are welcome to attend. The event will feature speakers from the District Attorney’s Office focusing on the underground economy. Who are the victims of our hidden economy and related insurance fraud? Everyone is…your neighbor, your local city government, people confined to wheelchairs, your parents, you. There’s no such thing as a victimless crime.
Director of Community Relations, Jesse Navarro, will provide an overview of the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.
Thereafter, Deputy District Attorney Dominic Dugo, Chief of the Insurance Fraud Division, will discuss Workers’ Compensation Premium Fraud and Tax Evasion within the Underground Economy. Fraudulent scams occurring in California will be identified along with law enforcement’s approach to attacking these multi-billion dollar crimes.
The event will be held at the Spectrum Business Park Campus, 9388 Lightwave Ave., San Diego beginning at 5:30 PM. Refreshments will be served. You must register at www.IMASD.org. Seating is limited.
