UCSD PowerSave Green Campus Program Internship
The UCSD PowerSave Green Campus Program is seeking students for the position of Project Coordinator Intern.
The following student position is an internship that demands an organized self-starter, familiar with the UCSD campus community. Student interns will work with the PowerSave Green Campus Intern Team (5 students) for approximately 10 hours per week, compensated at $11 dollars per hour. The position starts during spring term (with a 4 week probationary period) and runs through the 2013-2014 academic year, with possibility of rehire in the subsequent year. Interns are asked to work over the summer if they are available.
From this job, interns will have the opportunity to gain training in the growing area of green careers. From this job, interns will also be able to network with the green community both inside and out of UCSD, and learn about the latest advancements in green technology. They will also have paid travel opportunities, including two conferences per year with the entire statewide PowerSave Green Campus Program. This year’s end of year conference will be at UC Santa Barbara on June 23-27, and it is expected that all interns attend.
The Alliance to Save Energy’s PowerSave Green Campus Program is a student-led initiative that educates the campus community on energy efficiency; achieves energy savings; and encourages the next generation of energy efficiency professionals by:
- Supporting green workforce development through training, mentoring, internships, and project-based learning;
- Realizing measurable energy savings through research, educational campaigns, technology projects, and facilitation of retrofits;
- Infusing energy and energy efficiency concepts into academic curricula;
- Creating effective and lasting partnerships to foster ongoing awareness about the relationship between energy and the environment among students, faculty, administrators, and staff within and across campuses.
