Johnny V and Pacific Beach Bar and Grill have been in business for over six years on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach, a busy community with lots to offer.  We offer dining, billiards, sports entertainment and a neighborhood bar atmosphere by day and DJs, music, lounge and dancing at night.  Hospitality is an upbeat and energetic environment where patrons and employees interact for an optimum experience.  Employees like the fast pace of the nightlife combined with the social aspect of the job, that for many feels less like work and more like a night surrounded by friends.

Marketing Johnny V and Pacific Beach Bar and Grill entails reaching our target demographic.  There are many avenues in which to reach the consumer these days and we wish to hone in on the right ones that appeal to the 21-35 age range predominately.  Web design, Social Media, Print Advertising projects and Fresh Ideas will be responsibilities of the internship.  Hours are flexible, approximately 20 hours per week.  The majority of the hours may be virtual, but a weekly meeting with management will be necessary to touch base and facilitate creative growth.  Meeting Wednesday afternoons is preferable, but adjustable to fit student’s schedule.  At the end of the assignment, success and progress will be measured with presentation of increased traffic to social media, web site and effect on sales.   If candidate is interested in the operations aspect of a restaurant, bar and nightlife, we offer the opportunity to work with the on duty managers to learn how a busy establishment runs during its operating hours.

We are looking for one or two individuals who meets the following:

Currently enrolled UCSD Student.  Must be over 21

Proficient in WordPress, Facebook, Twitter and other social media

Marketing and Advertising knowledge/interest

Socially active and familiar with current events and trends that pertain to the local hospitality industry

Speaks English Fluently

US Citizenship not required for internship
