Becker Scholarship

Equilar 2013 Research Externship Program

What is the Research Externship Program at Equilar?
The Research Externship Program at Equilar is designed for graduating students who are looking to begin working full-time in the summer of 2014. The Externship is with our Research department and serves as an excellent way to become more familiar with Equilar, the corporate governance and compensation analytics industry, and business/professional careers in general.

The Externship lasts over a two-day period and is unpaid. We will arrange for you to come in around mid-December, when most students are on winter break.

What are the dates?
The Externship takes place during your winter break and is ideal for students who will be traveling home or visiting the Bay Area during this time. It is a two day program for a total of about 13 hours. We will hold the Externship during the week of December 16th – 20th, but are flexible with timing.

What are the goals of the program?
The goal of the Externship is to introduce potential full-time candidates to Equilar, our Research team, and the general business environment. Externs will be provided with:

  •  Introduction to our Company – Equilar is an industry leader in the executive compensation, corporate governance and executive networking sphere. The Externship will give you a glimpse into how our different departments come together to produce top-of-the-line products and acquaint you with our friendly, collaborative and performance-driven culture.
  •  Introduction to our Work – Research Analysts work with public and private data to support Equilar’s products, develop customized solutions for our clients, and share industry trends via client alerts, reports, magazines, and the media. As an Extern, you will have the opportunity to shadow our Research Analysts and see first-hand what we do on a day-to-day basis.
  •  Introduction to our People – Equilarians are intelligent, hard-working, fun, and overall amazing people. The Externship is designed to introduce you to our network of great employees and for you to see if you can picture yourself as a future Equilarian.

What is Equilar looking for?
We are looking for candidates with a BS/BA in progress or already completed. All majors are welcome to apply! Ideal candidates will be pursuing a career in business and are motivated, driven, and have the track record to prove it. We are looking for analytical thinkers with strong written and verbal communication skills who enjoy working both independently and in teams. Education, Quality, Unity, Innovation, Leadership, Accountability, Results. Are there employment opportunities after the Externship program ends?
Yes! Each year, Equilar selects a group of 10-15 analysts to join our Research team, and we are already recruiting for our analyst class of 2014. If during or after the externship you want to apply, just let us know and you will be given priority in the recruiting process. For those who are graduated or graduating early, we also have a spring internship available.

Is this a paid externship?
No, this is an unpaid externship. We are also unable to provide travel accommodations or travel reimbursement for those who will be traveling from outside the Bay Area.

Rady T-Shirt Design Competition

The Rady Student Board is thrilled to announce a creative opportunity to increase Rady brand awareness:  The Rady T-Shirt Design Competition.

Everyone gets to play.

You get a chance to:

  1. Submit Your Design, or
  2. Score the Designs.

Students, faculty, and staff will get an opportunity to design and select their favorite T-shirt graphic.  The #1 graphic will be printed on T-shirts for production, and these t-shirts will be available in a limited quantity for purchase this upcoming Winter Quarter 2014.

After we have collected all the submissions, we will send out an e-mail for you to cast your vote.
